- To take action to check the caste validity certificate of all backward class employees in the institutions/offices under the jurisdiction of the Directorate and to take notes of the caste validity certificate if it has been submitted and preserve the records.
- To take appropriate action to avoid delay in promotion of all backward class employees in the institutions/offices under the Directorate and to ensure their proper promotion or other government benefits.
- Updating and certifying the point list of employees of all cadres of Group C and D. Handling promotions / retirement / transfers / complaints of backward class employees / officers.
- To issue instructions regarding establishment of divisional/district level/backward class cells in all the offices under the Directorate and to control these cells and solve the problems of backward class employees.
- To check whether all the posts reserved for backward class employees in all the offices under the jurisdiction of the Directorate are filled properly and as per the prescribed rules. To recommend to the Government with necessary instructions regarding filling of vacant posts.
- Handling information regarding the proceedings of the Legislative Session.
- Organization of Class 3 and 4 employees and action on their demands.
